Art as Meditation

I've always found a certain sense of calm when drawing and getting creative, it really soothes me and grounds me if I notice my brain starting to take centre stage. Most of my pictures begin as simple doodles or shapes, which eventually turn into something completely different...It's like taking a wonderful journey on paper.

Creating anything seems to bring my attention inward and soothe my mind. It's time for me and me only, and is a great way to slow down and retrieve focus.

You by no means need to be a Picasso, just the simple act of creating something is wonderful and very rewarding. I find it helps me sleep better too, so dig out the colouring pens and give it a whirl!
